Herber is an award-winning artist in both mediums of sculpture and painting. Being of Greek heritage, she developed concepts on how humans live in shared spheres towards current conditions on Earth and ‘Gaia Rise’ in the context of polit-myth.<\/p>

As curator for Transatlantic Cultural Projects, she engaged in International Cultural Relations and exhibitions. As former president of the Washington Sculptors Group, she created concepts for ‘Art in Nature and land-use projects. Her research into how humans have affected the Earth’s environment, geology, and its climate, has been deepened through her residencies at the Rensing Center (SC), theCoLAB (London), Skopelos Foundation, and The Delphic Preview, Greece.<\/p>

Her work has been featured in various publications such as LandEscape Now!, Studio Visit Magazine, Mapping Meaning Journal, and many more. Artemis has also accomplished public art projects in Baltimore and Washington DC.\u00a0<\/p>

Artemis Herber shows where we currently stand as humans have made the world fragile and cataclysmic events appear around each corner. The German-Greek artist shows how deep time is transformed into fleeting moments caused by human activities.\u00a0<\/p>

For this she primarily uses matter from geological time or materials that come out of the mining and extortion process of natural resources. Herber explores how myths are revealed in the new human made top stratum through metabolic regimes and their tectonic intervention, exploitation, and the use of land.<\/p>

Enriched with incorporated geological materials, ancient myths are fused as hybrid paintings and sculptures in thematic spaces. As a time-spanning narrative in the face of man-made \u201cErdaufl\u00f6sung\u201c (Earth disappearance).<\/p>

Herber has exhibited in the US, Germany, UK, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Greece. Highlights include the Albright-Knox Gallery Art Museum, American University Museum of the Katzen Art Center, San Jose Museum of Art, Goethe-Institut Washington DC, National Trust\u2019s Newark Park UK, Cheltenham Museum UK, Kunstverein Paderborn Germany, Spartanburg Art Museum, McLean Projects for the Arts, and Munich International Airport.<\/p>

In 2021 she founded the Mnemosyne-Intitative.\u00a0The Mnemosyne-Initiative is a transdisciplinary research based international artist group that has been established during the first lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.\u00a0In 2023 the Mnemosyne-Initiative has been invited by Julio Fine Art Gallery of Loyola University to present their first exhibition of Mapping Mnemosyne. The internationally growing artist collective continues with in depth investigations through research and artistic explorations in the fourth year of its collaborative work across cultures and nations.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
